Losing a loved one is hard. When a service member or first responder is lost, a flag is ceremoniously folded and handed to a loved one that is present. That flag is placed in a special box and displayed with pride.
As a 100% disabled Navy Veteran myself, I would like to offer my services, for a very small fee to help keep the power on. I will personally laser engrave their name, year of birth and passing, and the seal of their branch of service (or if First Responder, their badge or station information) onto glass that is cut to fit the flag case of your hero. If you are worried about the fragility of glass, then I also use quality acrylic from an American company right here in Houston, Texas. Acrylic lasts longer than glass, is more durable, and the engraving has a solid white appearance to it, versus the light etching on glass so the little details are more noticeable.
All I need from you is the middle vertical measurement of the whole piece of glass currently in the case and the full length of the bottom. It's best to measure on the inside of the case so you can get the whole sheet of glass instead of what is seen through the frame. If you are measuring the case, make sure to use the back side when the glass inserts to account for the extra space. See the diagram below for more details on measuring for accuracy.
Don't have a flag box yet? I hope to have a partnership soon with an American wholesale supplier of beautiful flag boxes. Once that is solidified, I will update this site with that as an offering.
